Hearing Aids

In the U.S., one child in every thousand is born with some sort of hearing defect. Hearing loss also affects nearly 25% of the population over the age of 65.

When you present to our clinic with a hearing defect, we will carefully go over your symptoms and perform a physical examination of your hearing system. An audiogram is usually performed to characterize your hearing loss.

If we determine that you require a hearing aid, you will receive a consultation with our audiologist who will identify the type and severity of your hearing loss and discuss specific problems you have with hearing. You will also be introduced to different hearing devices to help you choose a particular size, style or model.

Most patients use hearing aids in both ears to help them decipher speech better even with a noisy background and to be able to locate the source of the sound more easily.
