Do you suffer from Ohio Nose?

Piercing pain between your eyes. A headache that won't quit. An ever-runny nose. Congestion. Sinus drainage. It's not a pretty picture - but for many Ohio residents, sinus problems have become an unhappy part of everyday life. You've tried treating it yourself. Over-the-counter drugs. Hot showers and cold packs. Even Mom's chicken soup. And yet, after all the home remedies, you still suffer from "the Ohio nose".

Sinusitis Checklist

"Signs of a sick nose" If you experience more than three of the following symptoms, you should suspect sinusitis (especially if the symptoms have been present for more than 10 days):
  • POSTNASAL DRIPSTUFFY NOSEFREQUENT "COLDS" THAT WON'T GO AWAY YELLOW-GREEN NASAL DISCHARGENAGGING HEADACHE USUALLY BETWEEN THE EYESCHRONIC THROAT CLEARINGRASPY VOICESORE THROATCOUGH SNORINGBAD BREATH PUFFY EYESINSOMNIA CHRONIC FATIQUEIRRITABILITY, OR DEPRESSION
  • ASTHMA BRONCHITIS

Sinusitis is the most common chronic illness in the country, affecting an estimated 14% of all Americans - more than 40 million of us. Montgomery Ear Nose & Throat Clinic knows how to treat "the Ohio nose". The physicians are specialists in the treatment of sinus and respiratory conditions, with many years of experience in treating the specific types of problems found in Ohio. Using state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, our physicians can identify the cause of your problem.

Untreated sinus infections can lead to such serious diseases as bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma, or even meningitis. Using over-the-counter medications and home remedies may offer temporary relief, but in the long run can actually make the situation worse. The sinus membranes become cracked, swollen, and more susceptible to repeated infection. Our physicians can recommend antibiotics or other medication which will stop the infection. If the problem is an obstruction- due to swelling, scarring from previous infections, polyps - they can perform procedures in one of our state-of-art sinus endoscopy-equipped surgical suites.
